Who We Are:
Thelma Baptist Church is a Southern Baptist congregation located in the beautiful Walsboro community just north of Wetumpka in Elmore County, Alabama. With a rich heritage that spans more than eighty years, we are a diverse congregation whose chief aim is to worship God and develop faithful followers of the Lord, Jesus Christ. We are conservative in theology, creative in methodology, and completely convinced of the relevance of the Christian faith and the Bible in the 21st century.
What to Expect:
Attire: Our focus at TBC is magnifying Jesus Christ. It is not we ourselves who need to be noticed, but it is God who deserves all the attention. Walking through the doors of the Church building you will find a variety of styles of dress. A few will be dressed in coats, ties, and dresses. Most will be dressed in casual clothes; some even in jeans and T-shirts. We encourage you to come in what you feel comfortable in as you worship the Lord.
Worship Style: While there are many congregations battling over which style of music to sing, the goal of TBC is to use our talents and abilities to worship and honor God in whatever style that may be. Our congregation is diverse in age and interest, so our music is diverse. You will hear traditional hymns, contemporary praise, and even experience some creative movement on occasion. We do have a praise band, some praise teams, and a full choir. There is some way for everyone to express his or her worship and praise to our King.
